This weekend was spent "wrapping up" the Christmas holiday, end of year work stuff, items for the site launch & spending time with family/friends before 2014. We were both pretty exhausted from the holiday festivities and took it easy. Aside from a quick photo shoot for a one year old birthday invitation (which I cannot show until after her birthday) we hung around the city.
Friday we caught dinner at a great new mexican restaurant on the UWS: Cocina Economica Mexico - they have this queso dip with mini meatballs which was really different. Saturday had dinner & drinks with friends at Rogue & Canon in Greenwich Village. I really enjoyed the champagne drink the "Bouvier" & for eats the Leek & Goat Cheese Dip and Roses Deviled Eggs. I find when you're at a bar you're better off with the apps and small bites.
Sunday morning I promised the man an adventure, which was quickly halted due to the rain. Instead we decided to head to Chinatown and grab some Dim Sum. I have a list of some places I wanted to try but due to the rain I didnt want to endure a long wait outside. We decided on a place called Red Egg which isn't as traditional (they have no carts being pushed around, items are made to order). I really enjoyed the Dim Sum here. It was a nice change from all the traditional holiday food we had been eating the past couple of weeks. My favorite items; the peking duck sliders (OMG Crazy good) and the steamed roast pork buns
Looking forward to spending New years Eve in NYC & all the good things 2014 will bring!!
