Tattoo Garage in New Jersey
I had the privilege to shoot one of the many tattoo shops involved in this really unique fundraising event. All of the artists involved donated their time & talents on their days off to help this project achieve its goal. Numerous tattoo shops from New Jersey, New York City & as far as Canada participated in this event. Many of the individuals being inked were personally involved with loss from Hurricane Sandy & others just wanted a way to contribute. Even if you were not able to make it out to one of the events or were too much of a wimp to get tattooed. There is still time to donate to this effort http://www.indiegogo.com/holdsteadfast
A little but more about this event from their site:
On December 2,2012, a group of tattoo artists and shops from all over the country came together from 12pm-8pm to raise money for victims of Hurricane Sandy in an effort to try and rebuild what was lost. Participating artists contributed 8.5x11 sheets of flash designs which were distributed to everyone who participated in the event. The designs from these sheets were available in every participating shop. Most designs are one-of-a-kind, and were created by each artist to commemorate the day in which they all came together for one common cause. All money earned from this event will be donated the American Red Cross to help rebuild devastated communities and businesses.
